Due to Maui's pleasant climate throughout the year, cycling is very popular. Tourists can rent bikes at a number of bike rental shops located in the larger communities. Mountain biking is also popular.
Cycling on Maui
At one time it was possible to rent a bike near the summit of Mount Haleakala and cycle down the 38 mile road from the top of the volcano. For safety reasons, this excursion might no longer be available.
